Astro Update: May 2025 Saturn enters Aries and Dances with Neptune

There’s a lot of info out there about this or that planetary movement. While astrologers can certainly have different takes, it’s important to pay attention to whom you listen to for information. Knowledge is a seed that guides, and the quality and accuracy of knowledge can guide you closer or farther from truth. Everything we ingest, everything the mind inputs, is present in each decisive moment, playing its influential part. Sometimes what sounds pretty doesn’t lead you to the path that will successfully help you see with clarity what is in front of you. This is especially relevant for this recent New Moon and Mercury in Gemini, offering an opportunity to see knowledge in a new light. Ultimately, people cannot guide to where they have not gone. Many spiritual guides are themselves lost in their own karmic mess. Looking the part or wearing the mask, having the powerful words, doesn’t make it real. They can fool others, but life itself will never be fooled, and those words will be costly. Spiritual work is personal, quiet and between you and the divine. The greater the show, the more likely they are still running from that real work.
Saturn in Aries Conjunct Neptune:
Saturn’s movement to Aries suggests a shift over the next 2 years towards a more individualistic perspective. Here there is a collective shift to taking care of oneself and expecting others to do the same. Less support, less programs, and less assistance is on the horizon. One must rely on themselves and the ingenuity of Aries to succeed and survive. There is less compassion for those in need and an overall shift towards accountability and self-preservation. Safety nets are thin or become non-existent and people’s willingness to lend a hand can become scarce. There is a cold hard truth that Saturn is asking you to be fully responsible for yourself, to own your own needs and to rely on yourself. This development can and will mature aspects of self that are still immature and impulsive.
Risk taking is greatly moderated with a dose of reality and caution. As with all Saturn

transits, while they are not the most enjoyable, they are some of the most important for our spiritual growth. Saturn in Aries, like when Saturn and Mars are in contact, have a particularly difficult and frustrating relationship. Mars, God of war likes action, fire, immediacy and risk. Saturn, being the slower, heavier planet, will not let him perform those tasks. Saturn brings brakes to the gas petal, refusing to move so fast or allow Mars to express himself. Mars frustration builds, unable to figure out how to go forward he just fumes with agitation causing explosive and impulsive attempts at doing what he wants not what he needs to do, followed by a swift fatherly knock down where he is reminded that this maturity is expected of him and he cannot get out of it.
If one has developed their maturity sufficiently, which properly considers reality, caution and responsibility, then it is possible the actions that come at this time will be grounded and successful. Only that which is built on solid ground will last. The rest will come falling down, and one can no longer maintain the illusion that their shotty work was sufficient.
Saturn will also be dancing with Neptune over the next year which can bring several possibilities. Neptune is known for its connection to spirit, music and substances and can be murky, illusive, delusional, confusing and abstract. Neptune in Aries can bring bold new paths, not all of which will turn out as good as hoped for. Neptune's trickery is actually where your own discernment is lacking, Neptune offers gold only to have it turn to sand falling through your fingers. Why?

Neptune is guiding the spiritual development, which is not all sunshine and rainbows and make-pretend shamans and healers which we have plentiful of here in the Western world. It is not $400 sessions with someone channeling for you or allowing people you barely know into your akashic records and energetic body or clearing your chakras with crystals or “tantric” sexual practices (this is not true tantra). True spiritual progress requires the purification of one’s body and mind, only you can do the work for yourself. Without a mind that can see properly one is in darkness, and darkness plays on the shadows causing illusion. People begin chasing these illusive goals, desires and imaginative beliefs/powers without understanding what it is they are truly chasing. Only an illumed mind can see the path clearly. Until one’s mind is cleared, the proper knowledge and teacher are there to help. With illumination comes proper discernment, Neptune's plays truth but like a movie on a screen the play of the darkness and light is then falsely perceived by the lack of illumination, the information from Neptune is misunderstood. This poor discernment is what actually “tricks”, leading to the disillusionments often accompanied by Neptune.
Spiritual work is difficult and requires discipline. A stable psyche is necessary to begin. Ego confrontation is an important aspect of staying on the path as one becomes intoxicated with power or a few psychic abilities, quickly falling away from the upward movement. Saturn is here to make this very clear- that which is not grounded in the 3D, in reality, will crumble. Tradition may overtake new age concepts for some, as they struggle to understand this dance between what is solid and what is surreal. Many may move towards religions or dogmatic beliefs, even people who thought they never would! This is generally the attempt to more quickly course correct without putting in the longer-term effort. Others will pay consequences, karma, for the ways in which they played with Spirit for their own egoism and materialism, as spiritual energies should not be activated for personal and materials gains, but rather only to know that Divine Being. Those who have “manifested” for their own greed will begin to see the cracks in the glass.
However, in the ruins of the old is offered the new- a solid and real path forward. One which requires real work through the karmic limitations and the pursuit of purification of the mind-body system. Neptune and Saturn can bring about the highest, real possibility. It can bring into actuality the manifestation of divine truth. If one can properly navigate the murky waters, they can begin a path which has more foundation, concrete and real progress can be made. This opportunity will not last forever, we need to leap while the energy is present. As with Aries and Saturn energies, only you can help yourself, no one can save you from your own choices.
Just as it is impossible to see how blurry one’s eyes are until one receives glasses, there is trust involved in going for the eye exam and exploring glasses, only after the intervention does the vision become clear. The same is so with purification. One cannot know how blurry

their spiritual vision is. Only through the illumination of the mind, from the proper habits and purified mind-body, can they then reflect on how blurry their understanding had previously been. This Saturn-Neptune dance will offer the opportunity to have one’s vision corrected. Those who continue to choose with poor discernment will initially feel they are free, courageous, bold and independent but eventually Saturn will surely show the gravity of the misstep and Neptune will eventually bring down the curtain and allow one to see with more clarity that which their ego actually chose. The key here is discernment, maturation and real spiritual work. All paths are our teachers, choosing the path from our highest possibility will lead to the greatest rewards.
